Lori Sauer

Professional Training, Career
Lori has a background in the arts with degrees in fine art and English literature. After working for a number of years in publishing, she studied bookbinding at The City Lit in London.

Current Position
She is a Fellow of «Designer Bookbinders» and specialized in contemporary fine binding. She continues to do high profile commissions for private presses and bindings for the Man Booker Prize. For the last decade, Lori has turned her attention to the development of alternative binding structures and passes on her knowledge of them through teaching.

Further Information
Lori has won various awards for her work over the years including the Silver Medal in the Bookbinding Competition.
In 2011 she founded BINDING re:DEFINED, in order to provide a platform for binders to learn about and explore unique ways of binding. Her work is held in public and private collections in North America, Africa, Europe and the UK.
